New forensic report in RG Kar case reveals woman's DNA found in victim, Sanjay's DNA also detected
A tragic car accident in Mumbai’s Kandivali claimed the life of a metro worker and left several injured, including Marathi actress Urmila Kothare. The incident occurred near the Poisar Metro station late at night when the actress’s car, reportedly traveling at high speed, struck two laborers engaged in metro construction work.
According to the police, the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the collision. One worker died on the spot, while another sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment. Both Urmila Kothare and her driver also suffered injuries but were saved by the timely deployment of the car’s airbags.
Urmila, known for her work in Marathi cinema and television, was returning from a work commitment when the accident happened. Her car was badly damaged in the crash, which has raised concerns about road safety and reckless driving in the city.
The police have registered a case against the driver at the Samata Nagar Police Station and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The incident has drawn significant attention due to Urmila’s prominence as an actress, with fans expressing their relief over her safety and mourning the tragic loss of life.
Urmila recently made headlines for her comeback to television after 12 years with the Star Pravah show Tujech Mi Geet Gaat Ahe. She is married to actor-director Addinath Kothare, who has yet to comment on the incident. The victim's family has received condolences from various quarters, while the injured worker remains in critical condition.
This accident adds to a growing list of road mishaps in Mumbai. Earlier this month, a BEST electric bus accident in Kurla killed seven people and injured 42. A separate incident in Wadala claimed the life of a four-year-old boy, highlighting the alarming rise in road fatalities in the city.
